Clos Lucé: opening hours and practical information

Clos Lucé is open all year, with the exception of January 1 and December 25, so you can visit the former residence of Leonardo da Vinci in any season. The opening and closing times do vary from one period of the year to the next, however, so it is worth checking them before you set out.

In January, the castle welcomes visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. From February to June, and again in September and October, the hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. In the height of summer, in July and August, you can make the most of your visit since Clos Lucé stays open until 8:00 p.m. In November and December, it opens from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Clos Lucé is located at 2 rue du Clos Lucé, 37400 Amboise. The town of Amboise sits on the banks of the Loire, two and a half hours by road from Paris via the A10 highway. Note that the ticket office closes 60 minutes before Clos Lucé itself, so it is best to arrive in good time to make the most of the various exhibitions and the garden of this exceptional residence.
