The Louvre Museum shop

Before leaving the Louvre, take a moment to carry a little of it home. Beneath the glass pyramid, the museum shop turns the end of a visit into a gentle pause among books, prints, and beautiful objects. A parenthesis to savor at your own pace.

As in many cultural institutions, the Louvre Museum has its own shop, a place to extend your visit by choosing books and a host of other souvenirs.

The Louvre Museum shop

After two years of renovation, as part of the Louvre Pyramid project, a true retail space took shape within the museum in the course of the summer of 2016. The brand-new Louvre Museum shop opened its doors to visitors at the end of 2016.

Among other aims, the project sought to bring together in a single space the children's bookshop, the souvenir shop, and the main bookshop. You can now discover a vast area spread over several levels, full of light and geometric forms, at the heart of the museum.

Here, books, art objects, and stationery blend with the wood paneling of the walls and ceiling. The decor is refined and pared back, lending the space a resolutely modern charm.

The highlights of the bookshop and store

In this striking space you will find books, reproductions, art objects of every kind, prints, decorative pieces, fashion accessories, DVDs, and posters. The selection evolves with the collections and the exhibitions held at the museum, so you can take home a reproduction of the painting or the jewel that captivated you as you wandered the galleries.

The range is very wide, making it easy for visitors to find the object of their dreams. There is also a permanent collection, displayed in a dedicated area, where the celebrated Mona Lisa appears in every form: bag, mug, t-shirt, puzzle, alongside objects devoted to the Louvre building itself. Certain pieces from past temporary exhibitions have found a lasting place in the shop, often spin-offs from the shows that most struck visitors. There is something for every taste and every age, from a postcard to a box of colored pencils. You will be spoilt for choice.
