The most beautiful views from the Seine

Sailing or strolling along the Seine offers a series of postcard views of Paris. A few well-chosen spots concentrate the most photogenic angles, from Pont Bir-Hakeim to Pont de la Tournelle, including Pont de Solférino and the rooftop of the Cité de la Mode.

From Pont de Solférino, a view of the Grand Palais

Linking the Tuileries Garden to the Musée d'Orsay, Pont de Solférino offers, at sunset, a memorable view of the Grand Palais. Its glass façade, designed for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, becomes almost transparent in the late afternoon light.

A spot favoured by photographers, especially in the soft light at dusk.

Pont de la Tournelle, eyes on Notre-Dame

Pont de la Tournelle has long been the painters' and photographers' bridge to capture the bond between Paris and its lovers.

From there, the view of Notre-Dame Cathedral and Île de la Cité is exceptional.

A statue of Sainte Geneviève, patron saint of the city, stands on the bridge and adds to the symbolism of the place.

Cité de la Mode et du Design and Pont de Bir-Hakeim

The rooftop of the Cité de la Mode et du Design, freely accessible, offers a sweeping panorama of the Seine in the south of Paris. A more contemporary point of view, away from tourist trails.

Further west, taking metro line 6 between the Bir-Hakeim and Passy stations, the train crosses the Seine in the open air. A few seconds enough to admire the Eiffel Tower rising above the river, especially memorable at sunrise.
